A British study from 2013 found that acupuncture was as good as therapy for depression. In the study, patients who used anti-depressants along with acupuncture improved more after three months than those who took just the anti-depressants.

In one study, published in the Journal of Endocrinology in March 2013, scientists found that stress hormones in rats were lowered after receiving electroacupuncture. Increased stress is one of the major symptoms in people suffering from anxiety.
